FRIENDZ was founded in September 2001 by three entrepreneurial homemakers in Snohomish, Washington, who originally created the trays exclusively as gifts for friends and family. Numerous requests to purchase their craft led them to expand into the retail market and sell to the public.

The first product was an appetizer and dessert tray. Success with this first item launched the expansion of the product line to include coordinating wine glasses, salt and pepper shakers, and oil and vinegar cruets. They are currently working with a company to include an etched image or name on the tray as an optional feature.

This cottage industry is currently distributing to stores nationwide and has exhibited in the Seattle and San Francisco and Dallas Gift Shows.

More recently, FRIENDZ has expanded to Anchorage, Alaska.
